The Garden of Hope

The Garden of Hope

The Carpenter Shop

The Carpenter Shop found at the west entrance to the Garden simulates the type of shop in which Jesus worked as a boy.   The tools in the shop are from Nazareth and are hundreds of years old.   They were gifts to the Garden from David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel.  Leroy Coates, a Covington artist, painted the large mural on the wall of the shop.

Also in the shop are two flags: one Egyptian (Out of Egypt have I called my Son") a gift of Gamal Abdul Nasser, former President of Egypt; the other, a flag of Israel by the Israeli Ambassador to the United States.
