The Garden of Hope

The Garden of Hope

The Sepulcher

The greatest event in the history of the world remains the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the Tomb.  In 1938, Morris Coers visited the Holy Land and saw the tomb from which Jesus arose from the dead.  So moved by the experience Rev. Coers determined to build a replica of the tomb so that others who could not visit the site could at least see what it was like.  Through many years of prayer and struggle such a place was built. The Garden of Hope became a reality in 1958.

During construction the caretaker of the Jerusalem garden was brought to Covington to oversee the plans.  Every possible attempt was made to see that the replica met as many details as possible.  Through the years, thousands of visitors have come to pray and to reflect on the great love of God, who sacrifices His only Son that we might have eternal life.
